Went out last Sunday to the new shopping centre that opened at Jurong East…
First though, we had lunch at Han’s at Jem.
By the time I remembered to take a photo of the main dish… only this much was left. It was brunch so we were hungry!
The new shopping centre is called Big Box. It’s this… mega mall sort of concept where I guess is very common in other countries besides SG.
High ceilings. Big stores classified by theme? Nah, I mean category, yes that’s the word.
So there are shops selling various categories of items… and if it’s operated by the… management? they’ll call it XXXX.BOX.
Chinese New Year in coming in a month… and this shopping centre has already put up the new year decorations when we visited.

We also spotted them selling these HUGE packs of prawn crackers and ring-like (no idea what flavour it is) snacks…

That’s the HUGE ring snack. Reminds me of deep fried onion snacks...

Even the shopping baskets are huge. See that blue thing inside? That’s a regular shopping basket.
At the checkouts of the super market. The way this supermarket works is such that it encourages people to buy in bulk. Like you get 5% off if you buy 2 of the same item etc… We bought some stuff from the supermarket before heading back to Jem.
I was darn thirsty so me and my sis got a cup of bubble tea. The plastic seal is really cute! Albeit a little out of season. The English translation isn’t good. It really should be “My dear, I’ll be waiting for you here."

I was playing around with an app that lets you add stickers on photos and I found a set of stickers which fitted this photo perfectly. Nice right? XD
